APPALACHIAN SOUL MUSIC
Hailing from the heart of Appalachia in Russell County VA, 49 Winchester's sound is drenched with blues, soul, southern rock, and country influences. An eclectic blend of musicians from different backgrounds, they have forged out a genre bending sound that is uniquely their own. Lead singer & guitarist Isaac Gibson's powerful raspy vocals and honest lyrics, supported by a muscled 3 guitar attack, steel guitar, and a rock solid rhythm section provide a sound and spirit laden with emotion, both high and low.

Since making their start in late 2013, the young band has released two albums, performed at prestigious venues, and paved their path to being a midlevel festival band after being featured at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, Mountain Music Festival, Appalachian Trail Days, Road to LOCKN' Festival, Nashville Music City Brewer's Fest, Red Barn Radio, Road to Hoopla, The Howling, Bearded Man’s Music Festival, Rt. 23 Festival, KY RiverJam, & more.

Their 2018 sophomore album "The Wind" was self-produced at Bristol VA's Classic Recording Studio with Mike Stephenson and features driving electric guitars and drums matched with jangling mountain banjo melodies. The 11 poetically straight-forward tracks touch on the topics of despair, love, & self-reflection with emotion & excitement that mirrors the energy of their live performance.

“49 WINCHESTER CANNOT BE TIED DOWN. Six years after their inception, the Castlewood, VA quintet are no longer “the new kids on the block”, and have inspired a wave of young bands in their region with their seamless fusion of rock&roll, country, and blues, and with their infallible DIY approach to everything surrounding their music.”

Morgan Wade
Morgan Wade exploded onto the Southwest Virginia music scene two years ago playing a blend of country, folk and high-energy Americana and jamming with a rotating group of musicians. She was immediately noticed for her tremendous song writing and powerful voice. Bassist Ed McGee and mandolin player Joe Link have been with Morgan from the beginning and added veteran rockers Drew Sprinkle on guitar and Bengy Wagner on drums to form the Morgan Wade and The Stepbrothers. The formation of the Stepbrothers allowed Morgan to front a harder-edged, yet professional stage show. Although Morgan still plays to her Americana roots, the music is driven by sensitive and penetrating lyrics and a tight, electrifying rock band. Morgan Wade and the Stepbrothers deliver an intersection of rock, country, and folk that reflects the beauty, anger, hunger, and hope of coming of age in modern Appalachia. She will be at Floydfest, is playing Road to Hoopla, and many more!
