Artist Vice is a stadium-ready rock trio from Charlotte, NC that invokes names like The Killers, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, and Foo Fighters. Long time friends Alex Stewart (vocals/guitar/piano), drummer Austin Eller and bassist Josh Geddings have been playing music and touring over the past decade in different projects but recently joined forces to create Artist Vice. The outfit has released their debut EP, “Jot it Down, Get it Out” to showcase their uplifting rock'n'roll. These seasoned songwriters and music enthusiasts plan to premiere their rock music in the only fashion they know...completely authentic.

Music has always been an innate catalyst for Laura Rabell. From singing at the top of her lungs in her '96 Chevy Cavalier to the first time she recorded at Blackbird Studios, Rabell knew that music was meant to be part of her life. With deep family roots in the Carolinas, she accepted a job and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, after graduating from the University of West Florida. Although her life from 9-5 was devoted to a career in marketing, her desire and love for music didn’t go away. So she took a leap that so many others wish they could, ditching corporate America for Americana. Since relocating to music city, Rabell’s proven herself worthy as one of Nashville’s rising songwriters – she’s got a song to sing, but more importantly, a story to tell.

Growing up in the Florida panhandle, she was influenced by a little bit of everything. From Soundgarden to the Dixie Chicks – if it was on the radio or had a home in her older brother’s CD collection, Rabell was all ears. From a young age, she showed interest in music; experimenting with the living room piano in her childhood home and a short-lived stint with the violin, all by fourth grade. As she matured, she took on an active role in Pensacola’s arts community. She performed regularly with a local choir, landed roles in multiple theatrical productions, and invested time studying and writing poetry. Rabell’s interest continued throughout college, where she earned a Humanities degree focused in Communications, Arts, and English. But it wasn’t until after her move to Charlotte that something changed with her. She attended a house concert featuring a touring songwriter and, “a lightbulb went off, like people actually do this? As their job? I want to do that.”

She’s always had the will, now she’s finding her way. Ten years after moving to Charlotte, Rabell packed up – with guitar, husband E.J., and dog Rusty in tow – and headed to Nashville to pursue life in the music industry. Together, they founded Rabell Creative, a digital marketing company that allows the couple to work from anywhere. On any given week, when she’s not touring, Rabell can be found playing somewhere in Nashville, including iconic spots like Bobby’s Idle Hour, The Basement, or Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge.
For Rabell, that journey is paved with songs full of meaning. “I believe that songs are powerful. Songwriting can solve problems. Through the gift of song, I can choose to add levity and hope to a tough situation. Even if it’s only for three fleeting minutes, a song can balance the scales of justice and give a voice to the voiceless,” she says. Her songwriting methods continue to be heavily influenced by modern lyrical geniuses like Rodney Crowell, Jason Isbell, John Paul White, and countless others who have also helped her find her way as a musician. “When I discovered the Americana genre, I felt like my music suddenly had a home and a purpose.”

Rabell is currently working on her first full-length, Ghost Stories. Set for release in late Spring 2018, the album combines the literary depth of poetry with the complex sounds of Nashville Americana.
