Stereo Reform
Stereo Reform
Stereo Reform is an innovative rock trio with roots on both the east and west coast. The band originated in Charleston, SC and shortly thereafter moved Los Angeles, CA. SR left L.A. for a year on the road, and now calls Greenville, SC home. All along the way Stereo Reform has absorbed and embraced change. Inspired by the likes of Franz Ferdinand, The Beatles, Ghostland Observatory, The Average White Band and more, Stereo Reform continues to learn and grow. Over the past few years Stereo Reform has taken the loosely definable "rock" sound and blended dance, funk, and pop to create what they now call Dance-a-Funk-a-Rock-a-Tronic...a sound that continues to evolve. SR is Neil Turner on bass/keys and lead vocals and Will Evans on guitar/keys and backing vocals. The SR debut recording, Robots of Evolution, is available on iTunes and many other such sites. Two EPs are available as well, The Whitestone Session and Party Light 25. Currently SR is an independent band looking to impact the festival circuit and continue to reach more listeners.
Old You
Old You
From Charleston's underground music scene rises Old You, a band that has refused to confine their style to the restrictions of a sigle genre. The young group of four has combined elements of funk, soul, jazz, and acid rock to forge a sound that has captivated audiences around Charleston, SC, as well as the rest of the Southeast.
For the past three years, Old You has generated a tremendous following through word of mouth and constant gigging. "Old You has become a malleable bar band with a positive attitude and an ever-growing repertoire," writes T. Ballard Lesseman of Charleston City Paper. "They've balanced the weekly money gigs with carefully scheduled shows at other more music-oriented venues that feature original, local and touring bands."
The band owes most of their success to their diverse set and broad range of styles. Charleston Scene's Matthew Godbey describes watching their show as, "a time warp from the '60s to the distant future and back within one song."
Old You has not abandoned their roots as a bar band; however, they have moved on to headline larger music venues like The Charleston Pour House, The Music Farm, Sky City, and Smith's Olde Bar. In 2011, they competed in College of Charleston's Battle of the Bands at the Music Farm, taking first place, and later that year was awarded with Up-and-Coming Act of the Year by the Charleston City Paper. The Band has shared the stage with national acts Robert Randolph and the Family Band, State Radio, Bright Light Social Hour, Futurebirds, and Holy Ghost Tent Revival.
