The Joe Taylor Group
Multi-faceted artist Joe Taylor finds labels and categories other than “musician” and “music” to be ill-fitting.
As a New York session guitarist, producer and composer, Joe has worked with artists from all sixteen points of the compass.

These include Donna Summer, Al B. Sure!, Keith Diamond, Nile Rodgers, Dave Koz, The Roches, Karla DeVito, Eye to Eye, Larrie Londin, Bob Babbitt, Kenny Aronoff, Steve Churchyard, Steve Holley, Buddy Miller and Emmylou Harris, as well as, on the Classical and Celtic end of the spectrum, The Canadian Brass, Angel Romero, James Galway, Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Jerry O’Sullivan.

As an artist and staff producer at RCA Victor, Joe had great success with his solo releases, as well as his Grammy-nominated ambient/trance series Oracle. He also performed as a first-chair guitarist on Broadway.

Joe’s career as a soundtrack composer runs the gamut…from the hit CBS-TV series Golden Years, to Billboard Top-selling video Michael Jordan’s Playground, to the Discovery Channel hit SpyTek with Roger Moore.

An acclaimed guitarist, Joe’s best-selling instrumental records have garnered top-five chart positions in Billboard, Radio n’ Records, Cashbox and Gavin Report, and his most recent CD, Accidental Sugar, was most-added at Smooth Jazz Radio in the beginning of 2010, and the single Built For It was a Top-20 Radio hit in the Summer of 2010.

Joe’s touring act, The Joe Taylor Group, consists of Steve Holley, veteran drummer from Paul McCartney and Wings, and bassist Sean O’Bryan Smith, whose credits include Larry Carlton, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum.

When not on the road or in the studio somewhere, Joe spends his time on an island off the coast of South Carolina with his bride Stacey, their bloodhounds, Blue and Ida-Mae, and two fine quarterhorses.
