Tahoma
Tahoma
Tahoma crosses over the thresholds of lucid, harmony-based folk, and classic, compelling Americana Rock. Emblematic of artists like Ryan Adams, My Morning Jacket, and Tom Petty,Tahoma boasts a flawless blend of indie-rock, Americana-soul, and classic rock n’ roll. The Austin, TX group’s newest single “Emerald Ring” perfectly emulates the band’s transformation from wine-sipping romantic folk to definitively, classic American rock music. The first single from the group’s upcoming record (set to be released in June 2016), “Emerald Ring” is an expression of lead singer, Brandon Aguilar, “coming to terms with what kind of songwriter I think I am”. Superbly written lyrics, detailing the painfully natural process of human growth, coupled with tasteful, melodically crafted guitar riffs places Tahoma into their own distinct realm of hybrid Americana Rock. Joining Aguilar is Sarah Oermann on backing vocals/percussion, Vinnie Fallico on lead guitar, Mark Mayfield on bass, and Clellan Hyatt on drums. Oermann’s soulfully chilling harmonies coupled with Fallico’s electrifying, gritty guitar licks makes for an eye-turning, energetic sound reminiscent of 70’s LA country rock legends Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, and The Eagles. While the group still maintains a fingerprint of their older, folk roots from their debut Honest Mark EP, Tahoma has re-crafted their sound with a live, full band in mind. When asked of the group’s progression, Aguilar noted “it’s always been easier for me to write a rock song... that’s more me at the very core.” With a full length album set for a August 2016 release, Tahoma is geared up, and ready to showcase their distinctly unique brand of Americana Rock to audiences everywhere.
The Brook & the Bluff
The Brook & the Bluff
Birmingham natives Alec Bolton and Joseph Settine formed The Brook & The Bluff while attending Auburn University. The group's name stems from each member’s distinct home suburb in Birmingham, Mountain Brook and Bluff Park.

Originally an acoustic duo, the pair quickly became a staple at local venues, turning heads with clean vocals and expert guitar work. Still searching for the right musicians to create a full band, the duo released “The Rough Cuts,” a 3-song acoustic project, in the fall of 2015.

In the spring of 2016, John Canada noticed the talent and potential of the duo and offered to play percussion and sing with Joseph and Alec. Soon after, he officially joined the group, expanding their sound with driving rhythm and an added voice. The trio instantly locked in and started playing together consistently. After resolving to make something of this ensemble, the trio searched for a bassist to fill the bill. Rip Britton completed The Brook & The Bluff on bass in the summer of 2016.

Now fully equipped, The Brook & The Bluff is passionate about sharing their original music with Birmingham and beyond. The band is working on its first full project and excited about taking the next step in their musical progression.

Joy, Bethany and Alex all met as children in a theater company and stayed in touch over the years but never would have imagined how deep their friendships would eventually become. All three band members were taught piano by Alex’s parents, all three went to the same university and all three shared the same views on politics and cats, yet it was over a decade after meeting until they started making music together. Bethany and Alex started playing together as a duo in 2015. Joy was in between bands at the time and started singing occasionally with them. Bethany and Alex quickly realized how natural it felt with Joy in the mix and started sharing the stage with her more and more until all three agreed that making music as a trio was the only option that made any sense anymore.

Now the three are all but inseparable (Bethany and Alex are set to be married in the Fall of 2017 and Joy is the maid of honor) and the music coming out of the trio is more complex, ambitious and focused than ever. Their second EP “Bones” releasing Summer 2017 is a launching pad into their 2nd US Tour and beyond.
